Fortuner Engine, Transmission,Power and Performance

This SUV available in two engines, petrol & diesel, manual and automatic transmission. 

• The petrol manual, 2694cc 4 inline cylinder DOHC 2TR-FE I4 Dual VVT-i petrol engine which produces 164bhp of power at 5200rpm and 245Nm of torque at 4000rpm, RWD, manual 5-gears with sports mode. Automatic  produces the same amount of power and torque, it comes with Torque Converter 6-gears with sports mode and paddle shifters.

• The diesel manual, 2755cc 4 inline cylinder DOHC 1GD-FTV Turbocharged D-4D I4 diesel engine which produces 201bhp of power at 3400rpm and 420Nm at 1400rpm, 6- gears, sports mode.              Whereas diesel automatic gives 201bhp at 3000rpm and the torque is 500Nm at 1600rpm, Torque Converter 6-gears, paddle shifters.

Exterior

The body language and design language both are at their top level and now the facelifted version is something more futuristic due to its boxy & bold face. Fortuner is a attention seeker SUV and the biggest attraction point is massive size with greatly shaped looks.

Front face

The face is very bold and aggressive and these qualities have to be there on a SUV. The boxy and bold characters of the Fortuner is something necessary for this kind of car. 

Headlamps of the car is very powerful and throw amazing amount of light at night meanwhile the eye makeup is also nicely done by Toyota. The grill is massive with big Toyota sign on it, the bumper of the car is what I like the most because it gives it more punch, style and aggression. 

Muscular lines and curved all working in favor of the Fortuner which increases the level of greatness. Fake air vents are there and they are holding almost point sized fog lamps in between them.

Side profile

The use of chrome on the side is just fantastic, the chrome lining around the windows are continue to the rear and then to the other side of the vehicle. Windows are big, chrome work on handle bars are amazing too, you'll get side foot plate and great ground clearance (193mm).

Tyre size is perfect for this type of car, the alloy design is very impressive which suits the aura of the car. Length of the car amazing but the height is mind blowing, functional roof rails are present.

Rear seats

The chrome line which I mentioned in side profile section is on the the boot gate as I said and seriously speaking this normal line just making the rear of the car more & more killer.

The chrome lining around the tail lamps are working as a free extra cheese toping on your favorite pizza simply speaking, looking too hot, tail lamps have fabulous structure but that chrome work is putting the level of design to another level. The diffuser is bold enough, stop lamps is embedded in rear mounted spoiler, rear wiper is there with spray nozzle.

Shark fin antenna and the panaromic sunroof finish the exterior amazingly.

Interior

Your expectations from this price about interior are full filled by Toyota. Space is there (3 rows), amenities are there, comfort is the major part and that major part is in majority.

Third row, so the car have three rows means more people, family oriented. Ok first of all how to reach last row? Simple just pull second seat ahead and there you go. The third row is not the spacious corner of the car but it is not the worst, it might be difficult for the fully grown up adult to seat there with lots of space, but the seats are perfect for the kids or teens gangs in the family trip. Last is can be decline to increase the boot capacity (50:50 split).

Second row or middle seats, so three people can seat here comfortably because its a spacious place and more comfortable than the last one, all adjustable head rest including the middle one also making this place fav of many in the family or in the group. Good amount of leg room, knee room, head room and nice under thigh support.

Front seats, they are comfortable and they are also full of amenities as well, ventilated seats, electrical adjust and great support which definitely make you long journey easy and not make it restless. 

Dashboard, whole dash is a master piece before and now as well. Staring front the center, first the AC vents just above the infotainment system, then the feature loaded infotainment screen, the system is super crisp and slick to use and the graphics are great indeed. AC control are nicely finished with small display as well, below that some storage space and stuff.

The best things is that the screen and the AC control are between silver lines. The gear knob is perfectly finished the quality of whole board is superb. Behind that parking brake, arm rest with storage lives.

Three spoke is same no change but this one is best feel, very communicative and sharp as well, volume buttons and other functions are on you finger tips.

It have analog instrument cluster but in this price point I was expecting the fully digital unit, no worry, the MID of the car is nice, on the right side of the cluster there is tachometer and speedometer at the right and at the center there is a digital display which tells you every important info.

The roof has, roof light control, sun glass holder and sunroof.
